WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT IS A SORT OF ART COLONY GOING WILD EVENT THAT THE CITY OF HALIFAX , NOVA SCOTIA SPONSERS EACH SPRING. ALL THESE MURELS ARE CHALK DRAWINGS THAT THE ARTISTS HAVE ONE DAY TO DRAW ON THE PAVEMENT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS, PROBABLY MORE, AND THE CREATIVITY THAT HAS DEVELOPED IS INCREDIBLE, WELL DAH! ANOTHER REALLY NEAT THING ABOUT THIS WHOLE EVENT CONCEPT IS THAT THE DAYS FOLLOWING THE CREATION, THE DRAWINGS ARE LEFT VIRTUALLY UNDISTURBED BY THE TOWN 'S RESIDENCES AND ARE LEFT THERE FOR A WEEK OR UNTIL IT RAINS (WHICH IS USUALLY THE CASE). ANY CHANCE OF THAT HAPPEN IN A US CITY??? ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS.
This blog is something I have been looking for, for a long time, I plan on using it to keep up with friend and family and anyone else who wants to read along, about things I do, places I go, and just thoughts that run through my mind, trust me my mind can be a scary place.

Home coming football game!!!
Well it’s time for the game, it rain all day, but cleared up by the time of the game. It was decided it was to wet to bring the home coming maids out by cars, so they had to do the long walk across the field in tall high heals,I glad to say not even one stumble all the girls made it across just fine. My daughter looked beautiful, very proud dad here.
After the girls left the field, both teams entered the field the Hancock Hawks
and the home team PETAL PANTHERS.
After the coin toss the Panthers destroyed the Hawks at half time the score was 19 to 0 in favor of the panthers.
At half time the petal marching band put on an unbelievable show while the cheerleaders threw out t-shirts and footballs to the fans.
My wife and I decided to leave at the beginning of the third quarter, my wife was a chaperon at the dance after the game and wanted to have time to eat before the dance, so we went home had a quick bite just before my daughter Allison and her fried Savanna showed up to change one more time for the dance both girls looked like movie stars...
wow!!! What heart breakers. The rest of the night went off without a hitch, everyone made it home around midnight…long day.

Home coming parade!!! Friday, October 17, 2008
Well we made it through the toilet paper massacre, now it is time for the home coming parade. I got off work around 4:00pm rushed home to get ready, my baby girl Allison was working hard getting ready for her ride, as I mention before she was elected junior maid. My wife had made arrangements to use a co-workers convertible Toyota (convertibles are hard to come by in a small town), the plan was to meet the husband at the start of the parade, but we were running late as usual, so with minutes to spare we dropped off our daughter, with a total stranger and told her to have fun while we raced to Auto Zone to get a good spot to watch the parade (we’re such good parents…ha-ha) we sat around waiting around on the first float, around 6:00pm I heard it coming
, kids and grown ups too started running around chasing penny candy and cheap beads, its amazing what people will do for one cent candy, sometimes I just want to pull out a dollar and say have a ball. There was a big turn out, the one thing about a small town is they support their kids, besides they were throwing one cent candy by the handfuls...ha-ha.
The parade went off without a hitch, my baby girl was the star of the show (ok, I’m sure other parents with kids in the parade would disagree, but it my site… so there!!!)
and she could not have looked more beautiful (I was proved wrong the next night…wow!!!!) the parade was only about 40 minutes long, the junior float rocked,
it was later picked best of the show. It beat out the seniors float; as a matter of fact the freshman class came in second, looked like the seniors just did not put in the time on it. Once it was over we packed up and went to pick up my daughter at the end,
just another day in the life of the Mooney family.

PETAL HOME COMING WEEK!!!!!!! OCTOBER 12-18, 2008
Yep its that time of the year again…home coming week…this can only mean one thing…toilet paper, toilet paper, toilet paper and more toilet paper, lots more!!! Ok we live in a small town and the big thing to do around here is to roll houses on home coming week, here is the funny part to me, the kids tend to roll their friends, cheerleaders, and school maids. Here is the problem…my daughter has many, many friends is a cheerleader and elected junior maid at school this year.
That’s pretty much like having a death sentence on your yard…odds are about 100 percent that my yard is going to get rolled. The way I see it is I have three options: (1) stay up 7 days straight, hide in the bushes and bash the little deviant thugs , with baseball bats with spikes (2) land mines (I actually considered this) and last (3) just let them do it a clean it up in the morning. Yea I went with # 3, even though # 2 sounded good to me. Ha-ha.
Tuesday October 14, the attack began, that night I was feeling bad (my tooth) so I went to bed early, the invaders hit around 11 pm, my wife was in my sons (Myles) bedroom and heard the intruders but for some reason let them carry out their mission. (It’s either now are later) after the deed was done the attacker’s hit on the windows and ran away into the night, so my wife and son went to the front door to check out the damage and found the front door tied to the porch so they could not open it, after a few pulls it came open.
I forgot to mention that a lot of the cheerleader had spent the night at our house that night, and were still out helping the elderly, saving the world….not rolling houses, I’m sure….some things a daddy just don’t need to know. Ha-ha.

The girls came home late, to toilet paper hanging in the trees, on the house, the cars, and yellow construction tape all around the yard.
If only the attacker would have left some kind of clue…..hmmmm then maybe we could have figured out who it was. It’s not like they would have had to write it on the ground in shaving cream, me having the giant brain that I do, would have picked up on even the most microscopic clue. Well there is always next year; I may even try out the land mines.
